Darcie’s animation only has space for minimal synchronised audio description. We have therefore also created an ‘expanded’ version to more fully describe the contents.

Yellow, pink and purple letters spell out the title: Patrick's playtime. This 47 second animation, aimed at teaching kids numeracy, features the character of Patrick (voiced by the creator's brother). The animation begins with Patrick, a ruddy-cheeked boy sitting on the ground in a park. The grass, blue sky, white fluffy clouds and tree are rendered in soft stippling. Patrick has a round face, triangular nose and an upturned mouth. He wears white shoes, blue shorts and a green t-shirt. A toy car in one hand, he blinks his wide eyes as the unseen narrator speaks.

Then Patrick stands beside a table that's set with a pink and orange chequered cloth on the grass.

On the table are a plate of chocolate chip cookies, a purple tennis ball and a yellow rubber duck.

A close up of the chocolate-chip speckled cookies as they separate out from their jumble into individual cookies. Each acquires a yellow halo as Patrick counts.

The final credits appear over brightly coloured squiggles. Animation, assets, and narrator - Darcie Alderton-Nutter. Sound - Pixabay. Patrick - Patrick Nutter.
