George Allen arrived in Australia in the 19th century on a sailing clipper. In this interactive virtual program, primary students learn about his journey through his firsthand account.

Students will experience

  • A retelling of George Allen’s story using his letter from the museum's collection.
  • What it was like for George Allen travelling on a 19th century sailing clipper.
  • Interacting with a museum educator by answering questions and sharing their contributions.

Students will learn

  • Reasons why he travelled to Australia.
  • Perspectives and experiences of early settler colonials.
  • Impact of these arrivals on First Peoples land.

Students will be provided

  • A worksheet at the time of booking to be printed ahead of the session.

Students will need

  • Pens or pencils.
