Lunar New Year is a period of celebration involving family gatherings, special food and preparations for the year ahead, making way for incoming good luck.

It occurs in late January or early February and is celebrated in many Asian countries including China, Singapore, Korea and Vietnam, and by their community groups worldwide, such as those here in Victoria.
