The Children’s Gallery is a wondrous place for babies to 5-year-olds to explore, play and learn.

Budding palaeontologists excavate fossils in our dinosaur dig; aspiring botanists traverse our discovery garden, exploring plants and stories; young curators gaze at our specially selected museum objects, and for everyone who loves to dance, there is a 'camouflage disco' where children will turn into spotty and stripy disco dancing animals.

Due to capacity limits, you must reserve a free, timed entry slot to the Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery in addition to your general admission ticket. Children’s Gallery sessions are 50 minutes long. Please book one session per visit date only so all families have adequate chance to access this gallery. If you do not pre-book your ticket online, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will be able to access this part of the museum.

The exhibition combines hands-on exploration and discovery, open-ended play-based learning, extraordinary immersive environments and unique museum collection objects.

This unique gallery supports families, carers, educators and children to learn together.

The Childrens Gallery is located within Melbourne Museum. For more information on getting here, parking, access and ticket prices go to Visiting Melbourne Museum.

For the enjoyment and safety of our young visitors the climbing net in the Children's Gallery is limited to children 5 years and under and their carers.
