What does it take for a seed to grow into a thriving ecosystem?
Seed Stories invites families to find out through hands-on exploration, aligned with the National Science Week theme Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all.
Designed for children aged 5+ and their families, this 45-minute workshop uncovers the hidden science within seeds and the vital role soil plays in supporting life, connecting directly to ideas in Our Wondrous Planet.
Before the workshop begins, visitors are encouraged to explore the Forest Gallery, where living systems and natural environments offer real-world context for the relationships between soil, plants and seeds.
In the program space, participants will investigate soil as a living system, select native seeds, and plant something meaningful to take home and continue caring for.
Blending observation, science and making, Seed Stories links museum learning with the living world beyond the Museum. Parents and guardians are welcome to join or observe throughout.
