This science curriculum-aligned exhibition provides hands-on exploration of key physics concepts such as energy, light, sound and gravitational waves.

Through immersive, high-tech installations, students can engage with abstract scientific principles in a tangible way, preparing them for deeper understanding and critical thinking in the field of physics.

 Students will experience

  • Immersive digital installations that bring abstract physics concepts to life, such as waves, energy, and motion.
  • Hands-on activities exploring the forces and patterns that shape the natural world, making invisible scientific principles visible.
  • Interactive technology like augmented reality and sensor-based displays to conceptualise the unseen, such as sound, turbulent motion, gravitational waves, and microscopic worlds
  • Collaborative spaces designed to encourage group discussion and critical and creative thinking, including creating collaborative projection art
  • Real-world applications of physics in everyday life, helping students connect classroom learning to the world around them.
  • Exploring the exhibition at their own pace, in small groups with their supervisors

Other key information

  • School groups can access the Beyond Perception exhibition if they have booked a time slot.
  • Students need to stay in small groups with their supervisors while in our exhibitions.
  • Visual experiences in Beyond Perception may trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy.
  • Beyond Perception has some high and low sensory areas.
