Professional learning for early childhood teachers

Museums Victoria offers professional learning programs for educators and teachers using the VEYLDF within their service. We are thrilled to offer these free programs in partnership with the Department of Education (Victoria).

STEM Curious

STEM Curious is a 2 hour professional learning program for educators and teachers using the VEYLDF within their service. This program introduces STEM as a valuable tool in early childhood environments, providing a range of hands-on activities for participants to take back to their service.

STEM Beyond

STEM Beyond is a virtual 60-minute webinar that will show you ways to better engage with your families through a ‘STEM lens’. With a deep dive into the Partnerships with Families practice principle, we give you ideas and strategies to connect and engage the families of the children in your care.  Participants who are new to the critical role STEM plays in early childhood are encouraged to complete STEM Curious prior.

STEM Numeracy

STEM Numeracy is a virtual 2 hour professional learning program for early childhood educators and teachers. This program explores the practice principle of Assessment for Learning and Development, modelling ways to support mathematical thinking through extended learning experiences. Participants who are new to the critical role STEM plays in early childhood are encouraged to complete STEM Curious prior.

Museum Teachers

Museum Teachers is open to all Victorian teachers and educators to create the best learning outcomes through our museums. All early childhood educators are eligible to join the Museum Teachers program.

Museum Victoria's Museum Teachers program provides free access to our three unique Museums – Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks and Immigration Museum. It also supports teachers and educators by offering professional learning opportunities, resources to use in the classroom or early childhood service, and exclusive invitations to exhibition previews and special events.
