A program designed specifically for our littlest and most adventurous learners.
Little Kids Day In is a STEM-based playdate that invites kids aged 5 and under to Scienceworks for a day of celebration and fun! Throughout Scienceworks are the Tiny Tinkerers, Bub Hub, Tot Spot, Kinder Clubhouse & Book Nook zones, as well as within our Lightning Theatre and Planetarium venues. In each space, little ones will engage with STEM-based play, activities, shows, and fun designed just for them!
Children are naturally curious. Right from birth, children are wondering and exploring, watching and listening, moving and feeling. Skills in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) are increasingly recognised as vital for all children’s learning. Children naturally use STEM skills like curiosity and experimentation as they explore the world around them, especially through play.
Our Little Kids’ Day In programs are developed to maximise play-based STEM learning in the context of real-world scenarios. Each Little Kids’ Day In is a unique learning experience with activities, museum exhibits, STEM challenges, shows and storytelling for children and parents to get involved in. We developed the following posters as a reminder for how children are learning STEM skills while they are playing.
