A claymation film. A mouse scuttles from underfoot as a police officer ventures into a forest at night. A poster that proclaims 'Patricia Stevens - Missing', peels from a tree. Title: In the trees. The police officer stops in a moonlit clearing then surveys his copy of the missing poster. A shadow... More shadows flit through the forest. The police officer backs towards a tree, shielding his face. Nothing! Trees twitch. The police officer rubs his eyes. Amorphous, muttering faces emerge from the ground at the police officer's feet. The faces' jaws flap beneath long flat noses, and jutting brows. The police officer grabs his baton. Backing away, he steps on one of the faces. The police officer recoils. He stares down, his beetling moustache flares at each exclamation. The police officer turns on his heels. He ricochets off a tree and lands on his arse. The tree swivels to reveal a leering face. Vine-like arms sprout from the tree. The tree catches hold of the police officer's ankles with its undulating arms, then pulls the police officer towards its jagged mouth. A mouse scurries through the now deserted clearing. The police officer's domed helmet's belched into the clearing.
