Museum Plus Trail
Explore First Peoples’ culture and connection to Country alongside the journeys of migrants to Australia over time.
During this self-guided trail through the Immigration Museum and surrounding precinct, students explore the site’s significance to First Peoples and migrant communities.
Students will experience
- An introduction to the museum by a staff member.
- A visit to the museum’s galleries and Tribute Garden with their teachers.
- A self-guided trail through the museum and surrounding area.
Students will learn
- About First Peoples’ cultures, perspectives and enduring connection to Country.
- About the impacts of colonisation.
- About varied causes and experiences of migration.
- About the significance of the Immigration Museum site.
Students will be provided
- A booklet to guide them through the galleries and surrounding area.
Students will need
- Pen or pencil. They may also find a clipboard useful.
Other key information
- This program is ideal for students visiting for a city experience as well as history students. Students can work individually through the program or with a partner.
